Cellusuede Products, Inc. can help you select the best Flock options – applications and fibers – to meet your unique needs.
Flock is a very versatile material and can offer many alternatives for your project. Depending on the cut length and denier, it can provide a soft, smooth texture, or a rigid, durable finish. It can be used to enhance friction or reduce friction. Flock can also provide a three-dimensional feature to any substrate.
Please contact a sales agent or our technical director to discuss the best flock options for you.
There are two basic ways to apply flock to any substrate. One method is spraying and the other is a gravity fed process. Each method typically employs electrostatic principles.
The spraying method begins by spraying the part with adhesive. Then, the part is sprayed with flock. The part then goes through a curing process and is cleaned to remove excess flock before being packaged or assembled.
The gravity fed process uses a flock hopper and conveyer system. The substrate, or part, is placed on a conveyer and adhesive is applied. The conveyer takes the substrate through a flock-chamber where flock is dropped on the part. The substrate then goes through an initial cleaning step to remove excess flock. The part then goes through the curing process and is again cleaned off before it is ready to be handled.
